Blue light is a wavelength that occurs naturally in light, including sunlight. Blue light has a short wavelength when compared to other types of light. This is significant because doctors link short-wavelength light to an increased risk of eye damage.
While many electronics (including lightbulbs) emit blue light, computer screens and televisions emit more than other electronics. This is because liquid crystal displays, or LCDs, are commonly used in computers and televisions. These screens may appear crystal clear and vibrant, but they emit more blue light than non-LCD counterparts.
